I develop alternative narratives for beauty, focusing on the imperfect and damaged as a means of creating new transformative experiences. In that we have all been touched by trauma in some form and are all connected by shared emotions, my art is both personal and universal. Inspired by Buddhist teachings, the works integrate fundamental structures found in body, mind, spirit and cosmos. My materials: eggshells, wires, found maps and toys, undergo an alchemical process of destruction and growth. Capturing the vulnerability in fractured, unraveling form, the works are intended as catalysts for reflection and empathy. A gesture that what appears broken need not be fixed.
